Job summary

Adhesives Research, Inc. in Glen Rock, PA seeks a Manufacturing Manager for CHEM OPS to lead day-to-day chemical operations, drive safety, quality and on-time delivery while aligning with profitability goals.

You will manage capacity planning, scheduling, inventory, and yields; develop staff, implement Lean practices, and collaborate with engineering and customers to optimize processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of manufacturing experience in a management or supervisory role, preferably in chemical operations/mixing and finishing technologies, including web processing.
• Strong leadership, influencing, interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving skills to resolve equipment, component, scheduling, quality, safety, and personnel issues and concerns.
• Proficiency with manufacturing computer systems and standard desktop software.
• Trained in statistical methodology for problem solving and process control optimization.
• Certifications such as APICS, LEAN, Six-Sigma are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations in chemical operations including capacity planning, scheduling, inventory, resource allocation, productivity, yields, product quality and delivery performance.
• Ensure a safe work environment and that all practices are conducted safely; prioritize safety and environmental practices.
• Prioritize operational focus to meet business objectives and customer commitments; drive continuous improvement.
• Monitor department metrics and implement continuous improvement actions; contribute to process and product quality improvements.
• Support product development and ensure smooth transition to commercial production.
• Identify future technologies and work with engineers and customers to evaluate and validate new equipment.
• Manage the Chem Ops workforce including performance reviews, development plans, and training.
