  • Collaborate with staff, administration, community members and business partners to support DECA opportunities.
  • Ensure DECA activities follow district policies and DECA guidelines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

This position is for a DECA Assistant Advisor at W.F.West High School for the 2026/27 school year ONLY. Desired start date is September 21, 2026.

In-District applicants will receive first consideration. Rate of pay based on experience and the Extra-Curricular Activities Salary Schedule. The stipend range is $1,739.-$2,148.

Summary of Position:

Under the direction of the High School Administration and DECA Advisor, the Assistant DECA Advisor supports the operation and activities of the high school DECA chapter. The Assistant Advisor assists with student mentoring, leadership development, competitive event preparation, chapter activities, and DECA events while promoting student engagement and participation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist the DECA Advisor with planning and coordinating chapter meetings, activities, and events.
  • Support and mentor students in developing skills related to marketing, business, finance, hospitality, management, and entrepreneurship.
  • Assist students with preparation for regional, state, and national DECA competitions.
  • Assist with student leadership activities, workshops, and training opportunities.
  • Support fundraising, community service projects, field trips, conferences, and other DECA activities.
  • Chaperone and supervise students at DECA competitions, conferences, and other chapter events.
  • Communicate with students and parents regarding DECA activities, events, deadlines, and expectations.
  • Assist the DECA Advisor with maintaining chapter records, membership information, and required documentation.
  • Collaborate with school staff, administration, community members, and business partners to support DECA opportunities.
  • Assist in ensuring DECA activities follow school district policies and applicable DECA guidelines.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Compensation and Benefits:

The District complies with State Law regarding SEBB (School Employee Benefits Board) eligibility and benefits. Coaching positions are not anticipated to meet the SEBB eligibility requirements.
