Job Description
Under general supervision, the Host/Cashier greets and seats restaurant guests, controls flow, and participates in the Ladies & Gents of Belterra Park program, representing the Boyd Gaming brand through hosting, entertainment routines, modeling, and PR activities.
- Deliver exceptional guest service in line with the Boyd Gaming Way: be friendly, polite, sincere, knowledgeable, and responsive.
- Familiarize with all Boyd Gaming outlets, functions, and answer general property questions.
- Maintain a professional appearance according to the Ladies & Gents of Belterra Park standards.
- Participate in modeling, TV, radio, print ads, and public relations activities.
- Perform entertainment routines at designated locations.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the entry area.
- Coordinate with service staff to provide high-quality service.
- Greet, seat, and inform guests about specials and menu items.
- Assist in table maintenance and cleanliness.
- Manage reservation system and ensure supplies are stocked.
- Set up and maintain dining areas according to standards.
- Handle payments accurately via POS system.
- Wear special event uniforms during holidays and special occasions.
- Participate in event preparations and off-site activities.
- Know table/seat/station numbers, hours, and dress code.
- Provide responsible alcohol service, adhering to regulations and preventing over-service.
- Follow health and safety regulations regarding food handling and sanitation.
- Maintain equipment and work areas in a sanitary and safe manner.
- Attend scheduled training programs.
- Perform opening, closing, and side duties as assigned.
- Report tips accurately and complete necessary training.
- Handle difficult guests professionally and work harmoniously with colleagues.
- Follow SOPs to ensure consistent service quality.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Effective communication skills with guests.
- Proper telephone etiquette.
- Ability to operate electronic reservation and flow chart systems.
