Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking a Chef De Cuisine to lead daily kitchen operations for our coastal seafood and oyster bar concept in Texas, shaping the guest experience and kitchen performance within a fast-growing hospitality group. Ideal candidates have 4+ years as a chef, a Food Manager Certification, and a proven record in upscale, high-volume restaurants.

You will recruit and mentor a culinary team, manage inventory and costs, and ensure safety and allergy accommodations while delivering

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience as a Chef.
  • Proven background in upscale, scratch kitchen environments.
  • Food Manager Certification required.
  • Experience working in full-service, moderate to high-volume restaurants.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily kitchen operations for the coastal seafood and oyster bar concept with high standards.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing culinary team, managing schedules and performance.
  • Oversee inventory, food safety, proper storage, and adherence to FIFO principles.
  • Maintain recipe accuracy, portion control, and cost awareness while ensuring allergy and dietary accommodations.
  • Engage with guests to enhance their dining experience and build brand loyalty.
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales, reduce food costs, and increase operational efficiency.
