• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions or make suggestions.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover items.
• Inform customers of Cheese Shop specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portions to prevent shrink.
• Measure, prepare and mix ingredients according to recipes with kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness and monitor sell-by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Understand store layout and locate products for customers.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Maintain inventory/stocking accuracy and note discrepancies.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures.
