Job summary

Kroger in Parker, CO is seeking a Deli/Bakery team member to deliver exceptional customer service, assist the department manager in achieving sales goals, and maintain a safe, clean environment. You will work with the Deli/Bakery team to engage customers, present samples, ensure fresh products, and uphold food safety regulations.

Responsibilities include verifying product quality, stocking merchandise, following store ads, and assisting with inventory.

Responsibilities

• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions and make suggestions about products.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about
• Inform customers of Cheese Shop specials
• Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink
• Measure, prepare and mix ingredients according to recipe
• Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients in merchandise
• Check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell by dates and take appropriate action
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
• Understand the store's layout and locate products for customers
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
• Maintain inventory/stocking condition and note discrepancies
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are kept
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notify management of repairs
• Notify management of accidents
• Report safety risks or issues and illegal activity to store management
• Work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer issues
• Provide support through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults
