Job summary

Kroger is seeking a customer-focused team member for the Deli/Bakery department to deliver outstanding service and maintain a safe, clean environment. You will support department goals, assist with merchandising, and ensure correct portioning and freshness of products.

Responsibilities include helping customers, stocking, labeling, and following safety procedures while contributing to a positive shopping experience across the deli/bakery area.

Responsibilities

• Gain and maintain knowledge of products within the department and respond to questions and make suggestions.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of Cheese Shop specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
• Measure, prepare and mix ingredients according to recipe with kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients in merchandise.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell-by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Understand the store layout and locate products for customers.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and note discrepancies.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures and logs.
• Report safety risks or issues and unexpected incidents to store management.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and notify about repairs.
