United Markets in Marin is seeking a Full-Time Cheese Manager for our Marin locations. This role requires a love of cheese, deep product knowledge, and a commitment to exceptional customer service.

You will supervise the Cheese Department daily, merchandise cheese attractively, verify invoices, uphold safety standards, and maintain ongoing product knowledge. • Previous experience in the Cheese department.
• Ability to give exceptional customer service.
• Ability to smell, taste, and inspect cheeses as necessary for freshness and quality.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Must establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, team, and supervisors.
• Effectively organize and prioritize work.
• Must be willing to assist other departments within the store when needed.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including morning, evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

• Combine product knowledge with suggestive selling to enhance the customer’s shopping experience and increase sales.

About the Role:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Previous experience in the Cheese department.
• Ability to give exceptional customer service.
• Ability to smell, taste, and inspect cheeses as necessary for freshness and quality.

• Must establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, team, and supervisors.
• Effectively organize and prioritize work.
• Must be willing to assist other departments within the store when needed.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including morning, evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to regularly lift at least 50 lbs.
• Standing: Up to 8 hours per day.
• Walking: Up to 8 hours per day.
• Reaching: Up to 4 hours per day.

Pay range:

$26.50-$27.50/hour depending on industry experience
