Job summary

United Markets is hiring a Full-Time Cheese Manager for our Marin locations. This role requires a love of cheese, extensive product knowledge, and a commitment to exceptional customer service.

You will supervise the Cheese Department, merchandise products attractively, check invoices, ensure OSHA/DOH cleanliness, rotate for freshness, and stay up-to-date on new cheeses. A flexible schedule, benefits, and career growth opportunities accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the Cheese department.
• Ability to give exceptional customer service.
• Ability to smell, taste, and inspect cheeses for freshness and quality.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Establish and maintain relationships with customers, team, and supervisors.
• Organize and prioritize work.
• Willing to assist other departments within the store when needed.
• Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Previous experience in the Cheese department.

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Must establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, team, and supervisors.
• Effectively organize and prioritize work.
• Must be willing to assist other departments within the store when needed.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including morning, evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
• Local candidates only.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to regularly lift at least 50 lbs.
• Standing: Up to 8 hours per day.
• Walking: Up to 8 hours per day.
• Reaching: Up to 4 hours per day.

Pay range:

$26.50-$27.50/hour depending on industry experience
