Job summary

PCC Community Markets in Edmonds, WA seeks a Cheese Specialist to oversee the Cheese department in the Deli, mentor staff, manage ordering and inventory, and provide expert cheese knowledge to customers.

You'll train team members, uphold sanitation and safety standards, and ensure exceptional service while wrapping and handling cheese to brand standards. Requires 3+ years cheese experience and a passion for specialty foods.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service.
• Able to work varied shifts, including weekends.
• At least 3+ years working with cheese.
• Familiarity with cheese varieties and families.
• Familiarity with specialty and prepared foods preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must meet physical demands including standing, bending, twisting, lifting 10-40lbs regularly.
• A Washington State Food Worker Card is required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent, professional customer service.
• Prepares, packages and merchandises cheese products.
• Fulfills designated ordering responsibilities.
• Trains and mentors Cheese Back Up and other staff on cheese products.
• Demonstrates knowledge of cheese varieties and families, specialty foods, and deli prepared foods.
• Follows department cheese wrapping and handling procedures.
• Ensures department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are met.
• Provides deli counter service when needed.
