Job summary

Bristol Farms is seeking a Cheese Clerk to join the Cheese Department. You will provide exceptional customer service, weigh and package cheese, and ensure accurate labeling and stock levels in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes hospitality, teamwork, and a positive attitude, with opportunities for growth and a comprehensive benefits package. This on-site position offers weekly pay and strong training.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to stand, walk, and use hands to handle objects for extended periods.
• Customer service experience in a retail or grocery setting is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide service that exceeds customer expectations in the Cheese Department.
• Weight, package, slice, fill, stock, and check dates for cheese products.
• Assist customers by listening to requests and locating desired products.
• Operate slicer safely to cut weighable products.
• Help manage costs by reducing shrink and preventing theft.
• Set up displays and merchandise to promote sales.
• Answer phones and take orders when necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Cheese Clerk is responsible for providing service that exceeds the expectations of customers by performing the following duties (other duties may be assigned):

• Prepares goods by weighing, packaging, slicing; filling, stocking, and checking code dates in the Cheese Department
• Serves customers in the Cheese Department by listening to the request and obtaining the desired product
• Proper use of slicer to cut weighable product required
• Helps manage costs by controlling shrink and theft
• Sets up advertising displays or arranges merchandise on counters and tables to promote sales
• Answers the telephone and takes orders when necessary

Customer Service Skills

Cheese Clerks are expected to provide customer service that is extra ordinary and exceeds the expectations of our customers. They are required to follow established policies and guidelines that go beyond simply smiling and greeting customers. Going above and beyond encompasses attitudes, respect, and flexibility. Cheese Clerks are expected to have a positive “can-do” attitude; to treat others with respect; and easily adjust to changes in the workplace.

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or general education degree (GED).

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the Cheese Clerk is regularly required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger; handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The Cheese Clerk occasionally is required to reach with hands and arms. The Cheese Clerk occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The Cheese Clerk must frequently lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and color vision.
