Job summary

West Virginia K-12 Jobs is seeking a dedicated coach to lead and develop athletes in the assigned sport. Reports to the Principal/Athletic Director/Head Coach and plans a regular practice program with approval and direction.

Responsibilities include coordinating intramural and interscholastic schedules with the head coach and athletic director, and recommending equipment purchases. The role also involves maintaining attendance and insurance paperwork, ensuring safety of facilities, and enforcing

Responsibilities

Coaches individual participants in the skills necessary for achievement in the sport involved.
Plans and schedules a regular program of practice with the approval and direction of the Head Coach and Athletic Director (including all revisions).
Works closely with the head coach and athletic director in establishing a schedule for intramural and interscholastic contests (all revisions require prior approval by head coach and athletic director).
Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms, in cooperation with the head coach and athletic director.
Maintains necessary attendance forms, insurance records, an similar paperwork (as assigned).
Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
Enforces disciplined and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establishes and oversees, cooperation with the head coach, penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
