Job summary

The YMCA of the Foothills seeks a dynamic youth cheerleading instructor to guide and engage participants in fun, safe activities while reinforcing core values. You will plan lessons, lead tumbling and chants, and foster a positive, inclusive environment.

You will build strong relationships with participants and parents, model Caring, Respect, Responsibility, and Honesty, and collaborate with staff to ensure a high-quality experience for every member.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 16 years of age.
  • CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Experience in teaching gymnastics, including tumbling and apparatus.
  • Ability to interact effectively across diverse cultures.
  • Ability to model YMCA core values: Caring, Respect, Responsibility, Honesty.
  • Ability to follow directions and work well with peers.

MISSION:The mission of the YMCA of the Foothills is to organize, develop, finance, and conduct programs for an association of persons of all ages that will, by putting Christian principles into practice, enrich the quality of their lives spiritually, mentally, physically and socially.POSITION SUMMARY:Lead and guide a group of youth in meaningful, safe activities that allow and provide for the best possible experience. This position is focused on nurturing the potential of youth using a variety of tools including the Y voice and core values.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Plan and execute a fun, educations and instructional Cheerleading class.Builds effective relationship with participants, their parents and staff.Promotes positive environment.Other duties as assigned.YMCA COMPETENCIES :Mission Advancement: Accepts and demonstrates the Y’s values.
