Rocky Mount Family Ymca Inc. is seeking a part-time Gymnastics Instructor/Coach to lead classes and programs, promote youth development, and uphold core Y values. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, gymnastics knowledge, and the ability to work a variable afternoon/evening schedule.

You will coach, develop relationships with gymnasts and families, and ensure safety and adherence to program standards while collaborating with the Gymnastics Director.

Qualifications

  • CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire.
  • Training provided by the Y includes Appropriate Touch; Child Sexual Abuse Prevention; Harassment Prevention; Hazard Communication; Risk Management 101; Safe Lifting; Social Media & Digital Communications.
  • Gymnastics knowledge and choreography experience are preferred.
  • Previous supervisory or managerial experience is preferred.
  • Ability to consistently work scheduled shifts and attend staff meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Promote Youth Development by providing and applying coaching skills at each practice and program.
  • Lead gymnastics classes while modeling core values of Caring, Respect, Responsibility and Honesty.
  • Develop positive relationships with gymnasts and communicate clearly with children, families, staff and members.
  • Adapt weekly practice structure and program curriculum to needs and safety standards.
  • Respond to and report accidents and injuries promptly; ensure safety procedures are followed.
  • Participate in member engagement and retention through knowledge of gymnastics programming.
  • Attend mandatory trainings and meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
