Job summary

Napa Valley Unified School District is seeking a Cheerleading Assistant Coach at Vintage High School. You will coach high school cheer athletes, emphasizing sportsmanship, safety, and teamwork while coordinating with school staff and the Booster Club.

The role requires First Aid/CPR and NFHS coaching certifications, with season timing from June through November and possible off-season activities. This position involves collaboration with families, staff, and athletics boosters.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching and working with student-athletes at the high school level.
• Must obtain First Aid/CPR, NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest, NFHS Concussion in Sports and NFHS Heat and Illness prevention, plus district HR documents.
• Season runs June to November with some off-season activities; booster stipend.
• Ability to work with VHS staff, student athletes, parents, administration, and the Vintage High Athletic Booster Club.
• Must have knowledge of sportsmanship, age-appropriate coaching, educational philosophy, adolescent psychology, nutrition, risk management, and sport rules.

Requirements / Qualifications

Cheerleading Assistant Coach position currently being offered at Vintage High School. Candidates should be experienced in the sport, have coaching experience and a resume of working with student-athletes at the high school level. Vintage High School desires to select a coach who is committed to developing young students both on and off the field. Applicants will be required to obtain First Aid/CPR, NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest, NFHS Concussion in Sports and NFHS Heat and Illness prevention, as well as all other Napa Valley Unified School District Human Resources required documents. The season begins in June and runs through November, however some off-season activities are expected. The coach receives a booster stipend at the end of the season Must be willing and able to work with our VHS staff, student athletes, parent's administration, and Vintage High Athletic Booster Club. Must have basic knowledge of the following:

• Character-building aspects of sports, including techniques and methods of teaching and reinforcing the core values comprising sportsmanship and good character;


• Knowledge of physical capacities and limitations of the age group coached;


• Coaching principles related to educational philosophy, adolescent; psychology, nutrition, risk management and the rules and strategies of the sport;
