Job summary

Napa Valley Unified School District seeks a Lacrosse Girls Assistant Coach at Vintage High School. You will coach high school student-athletes, run daily practices, and help manage travel for away games while fostering sportsmanship and character development.

Applicants should have coaching experience with student-athletes at the high school level and be prepared to obtain First Aid/CPR and NFHS coaching certifications during the season that runs February through May.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching high school student-athletes.
• Must obtain First Aid/CPR, NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest, NFHS Concussion in Sports, and Heat & Illness prevention.
• Season runs February through May; booster stipend provided.

Responsibilities

• Develop non-league schedule and practice plans.

Requirements / Qualifications

Lacrosse Girls Assistant Coach is currently being offered at Vintage High School. Candidates should be experienced in the sport, have coaching experience and a resume of working with student-athletes at the high school level. Applicants will be required to obtain First Aid/CPR, NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest, NFHS Concussion in Sports and Heat and Illness prevention, as well as all other Napa Valley Unified School District requirements. The season begins in February and ends in May. The Lacrosse Assistant Coach receives a Booster Stipend. Duties include developing non-league schedule, conducting daily practice, managing equipment, traveling with team to away games, developing positive relationships with parents and players, attending league meetings, and planning end-of-season awards & recognition event. Must have basic knowledge of the following: 1) Character-building aspects of sports, including techniques and methods of teaching and reinforcing the core values comprising sportsmanship and good character; 2) Knowledge of physical capacities and limitations of the age group coached; 3) Coaching principles related to educational philosophy, adolescent; psychology, nutrition, risk management and the rules and strategies of the sport;
