Conversational AI Developer (Dialogflow CX) / Virtual Agent Developer

Remote | Full-Time

Overview:

We’re looking for a Conversational AI Developer to help design and build intelligent virtual agents that improve how the public interacts with government services. Using Google Dialogflow CX, you'll create smart, user-friendly chatbots that can answer questions, guide users through online services, and seamlessly escalate to human agents when needed.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about leveraging AI to make digital experiences more accessible, efficient, and citizen-focused.

Who You’ll Work With:

You’ll join a collaborative team focused on transforming public sector customer service through technology. You’ll report to a leader in customer success and contact center operations. Someone committed to delivering smooth, effective experiences for citizens across digital platforms.

• Chatbot Platform: Google Dialogflow CX (required)
• Bot Deployment: Genesys Cloud integration
• Languages: Python or Node.js (for webhook development)
• Cloud Platforms: GCP preferred; AWS or Azure acceptable
• APIs: Integration with public APIs, Google Cloud Functions, and internal systems
• Version Control & CI/CD: Git; CI/CD pipelines in place (assumed standard)

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, and maintain chatbot workflows in Dialogflow CX
• Develop webhook-based integrations using Python or Node.js
• Transition and reimplement existing bots into the new architecture
• Support intent training, fulfillment logic, and flow optimization
• Collaborate on logging, error handling, and user response tuning
• Address technical challenges with existing Genesys bot limitations

Must-Have Skills

• Proven experience with Dialogflow CX
• Webhook development (Python or Node.js)
• Hands-on integration with cloud services and APIs
• Strong debugging and deployment skills
• Comfortable working independently within defined architecture

Nice-to-Have

• Familiarity with Genesys Cloud or other CCaaS platforms
• Experience tuning NLP/NLU models and training intents/entities
• Understanding of metrics (e.g., deflection rates, completion rates)
• Prior work with conversational design UX teams
