Job Description

EXPLEO GROUP USA is seeking a Chassis Systems Product Development Engineer to join our expanding team in Troy, Michigan.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and improve chassis systems
  • Create design documents for chassis, engine systems, and final products
  • Develop suspension lift kits for different platforms
  • Define new chassis components for lift kits based on package studies and suspension travel requirements
  • Design exterior/chassis accessories such as rock rails, power steps, onboard compressors, and spare tire carriers
  • Apply knowledge of vehicle dynamics and FMVSS standards for system integration
  • Develop solutions aligned with design needs
  • Follow APQP processes to ensure timely, quality product launches
  • Prepare feasibility and technical review documents
  • Release source packages based on product and business requirements
  • Develop DVP requirements for service parts and systems
  • Manage supplier testing and coordinate vehicle-level DVP testing within Mopar
  • Understand tolerances and GD&T principles
  • Coordinate technical reviews with suppliers for new products
  • Support suppliers in design and approval processes
  • Track project status and escalate issues as needed
  • Manage engineering changes and document them appropriately
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Gather and analyze lessons learned for continuous improvement
  • Create best practices to enhance process robustness and product quality

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
  • 3-7 years of experience in automotive product development
  • Experience with vehicle dynamics and suspension design (preferred)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and product development
  • Proficiency in NX software
  • Understanding of vehicle regulations and standards
  • Familiarity with GD&T and change management
  • Knowledge of vehicle suspension systems and architecture
  • Experience with component and system testing
  • Willingness to travel for business needs
