Job summary

Sewer Equipment Co of America in Dixon, IL is seeking a Chassis Buyer to procure chassis supporting production schedules. You will manage purchase orders, monitor deliveries, and coordinate with Engineering and suppliers to ensure chassis availability aligns with customer and operational needs.

Ideal candidates have at least two years in purchasing or procurement, with experience in manufacturing and strong Excel/ERP skills.

Qualifications

• Two years of purchasing or related experience.
• Manufacturing environment experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and ERP systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to build productive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure chassis to meet production and customer delivery requirements.
• Create, update, and maintain purchase orders with pricing, specs, and delivery dates.
• Manage chassis delivery schedules to align with production.
• Identify and resolve delays and issues related to chassis.
• Communicate status, risks, and recovery plans to stakeholders.
• Update production schedules and inventory tools with delivery dates.
• Gather and track customer-supplied chassis information.
• Collaborate with Engineering to review specs and support quoting.
• Build relationships with chassis manufacturers, dealers, and suppliers.
• Monitor open purchase orders and follow up on overdue shipments.
• Reconcile invoices against purchase orders and approve payments.
• Analyze costs, delivery performance, and supplier effectiveness.
• Attend production planning meetings and provide updates.
• Support continuous improvement in purchasing processes and inventory management.
• Resolve purchasing-related issues and escalate when needed.
