Job summary

Oshkosh Defense in New Hudson, MI, seeks a Development Engineer for Chassis Controls Systems & Software to design, implement, and validate embedded software across braking, steering, suspension, propulsion, and stability control.

You will work with Systems, Hardware, Calibration, Validation, and supplier teams to deliver robust, safety-critical software, support the software lifecycle, and help transition to software-defined platforms.

Qualifications

• Accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of experience developing embedded automotive software.

Responsibilities

• Define system requirements, control strategies, software architecture, and interface specifications.
• Develop, integrate, validate, and release embedded software for chassis control systems (EBS, ESC, ABS, TCS, EPS, VMC).
• Collaborate with Systems, Hardware, Calibration, Validation and supplier teams to deliver robust software.
• Drive software quality through peer reviews, testing, and continuous integration.
• Support ASPICE, ISO 26262 Functional Safety, and ISO/SAE 21434 Cybersecurity compliance.
