Job summary

The Chassis Mechanic role at CSS involves performing mechanical repairs and inspections in a depot/repair facility environment. You will handle chassis repairs including brakes, welding, and part replacements in accordance with FMCSA standards and written estimates.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting defects, working with ABS and air brake systems, and using mobile apps to log work orders while occasionally traveling to sites with a valid driver license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 2 years of trailer/chassis mechanic experience.
• FMCSA brake certifications and knowledge of DOT rules are required.
• Welding MIG/ARC knowledge and torch use.
• Capable of lifting 50 lbs and working in a shop or mobile setting.
• Valid driver's license with clean history; pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair chassis defects.
• Including ABS, air brake systems, wheels end, and structural assemblies.
• Welding and fabrication of chassis as needed.
• Log work orders via mobile app and document repairs.
• Travel to locations to complete repairs with a valid license.
