Job summary

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) seeks a Chassis Frame Engineer to design and release frame structures for Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles. You will work with lightweight steel/aluminum, analyze performance, and ensure integration with battery systems and powertrains.

You will coordinate with NA affiliates and Korean HQ, prepare specs, tests, and BOMs, and travel up to a quarter of the year to support global development programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in body-on-frame design and development.
• Experience meeting structural requirements for impact, NVH and durability.
• Working knowledge of vehicle structure design, materials and assembly.
• Familiarity with tooling design variables and related materials.
• CAD/3D design tools experience; CATIA V5 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop frame structures and components for new vehicles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate subsystems.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation and test plans.
• Study and interpret vehicle performance and test results.
• Create and manage BOM with updated weights throughout development.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and teams.
• Travel up to 25% domestically/internationally.
