Job summary

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is seeking an Localization Body Structures Engineer to join the MPV/Truck/Small Structures Team.

The role focuses on design and development of body structure or frame components for Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles, emphasizing lightweight materials and integration with battery systems. Responsibilities include CAD work, collaboration with manufacturing and design studios, and maintaining engineering documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• Professional BIW design and development experience.
• Experience meeting structural requirements for impact, NVH, and durability.
• Proficiency with CAD software (CATIA V6, NX, SolidWorks; CATIA V5 preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop body structure components and systems for new vehicles.
• Conduct research to identify key design requirements for EV platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate body structure with subsystems.
• Support localization with 2D/3D drawing development and updates.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation and test plans.
• Study vehicle performance and interpret test results.
• Create and manage BOMs with updated weights.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and teams.
