The Stepping Stones Group in Brooklyn Park, MN is seeking an experienced Special Education Coordinator to join our part-time school-based team. You will support special education programs, guide compliance efforts, and collaborate with educational teams to ensure students with disabilities receive high-quality services that promote academic success and meaningful educational outcomes.

• Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Minnesota teaching license in Special Education or related credential.
• PELSB certification required or in progress.
• Experience with IDEA, IEP development and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation and coordination of special education services.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations and timelines.
• Facilitate IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and student support teams.
• Guide teachers, service providers, and staff on procedures and best practices.
• Monitor IEP documentation, evaluations, and service delivery.
• Collaborate with families and professionals to support student success.
• Assist with referrals, evaluations, eligibility determinations, and progress monitoring.
• Support accommodations, modifications, and evidence-based interventions.
• Provide consultation and training on policy and compliance requirements.
• Maintain accurate records in line with district and state guidelines.

Job description

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking an experienced and collaborative Special Education Coordinator to join our part-time school-based team in Brooklyn Park, MN. This rewarding opportunity allows you to support special education programs, guide compliance efforts, and collaborate with educational teams to ensure students with disabilities receive high-quality services that promote academic success and meaningful educational outcomes.

As a Special Education Coordinator, you will serve as a key resource for educators, administrators, families, and related service providers by supporting special education processes, facilitating compliance, and helping ensure that students receive individualized supports aligned with their unique needs.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, School Administration, or a related field
• Valid Minnesota teaching license in Special Education or related educational credential
• PELSB certification
• Director of Sped OR SPED Coordinator/Supervisor
• Experience in special education, case management, program coordination, or educational leadership
• Strong knowledge of IDEA, special education regulations, IEP development, and compliance requirements
• Experience leading IEP meetings and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams preferred
• Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities
