Job summary

Lindblad Expeditions is seeking a charter operations and client relations lead in the New York area. You will manage end-to-end full-ship charter partnerships, serving as the primary contact for charter clients and coordinating across internal teams to ensure flawless execution.

The role requires strong contract management, negotiation, and project coordination skills, with travel approximately 40% domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years in maritime or cruise operations, shoreside and/or shipboard.
  • Experience across shoreside and shipboard environments strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting charter operations, account management, or group/incentive travel desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex client relationships and coordinate high-touch programs.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel ~40% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end execution of a portfolio of Lindblad Expeditions full-ship charter partnerships.
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager and point of contact for charter clients.
  • Oversee contractual implementation, cross-functional planning, customization, and financial coordination.
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with charter partners.
  • Respond to client inquiries in a timely, professional, and solution-oriented manner.
  • Implement terms and provisions of full-ship charter agreements.
  • Administer charter party provisions and negotiate with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with operating units to address customization requests and ensure charter execution.
  • Organize and lead internal planning and issue-resolution meetings with senior executives.
  • Escort full-ship charters as on-site corporate representative and liaison.
  • Host and entertain charterers independently while escorting.
  • Prepare charter onboard memos with operations colleagues, vessels, charterers, and units.
  • Assist Charter Sales Director with charter proposals and contracts.
  • Support exceptional charter experiences, complex client resolution, and long-term partnerships.

  • Manage the end-to-end execution of an assigned portfolio of Lindblad Expeditions full-ship charter partnerships

  • Implement the terms, conditions, and provisions of full-ship charter agreements

  • Administer complex charter party agreement provisions and negotiate solutions with clients and internal stakeholders

  • Coordinate with operating units to address customization requests and ensure charter execution complies with agreements

  • Organize and lead internal planning and issue-resolution meetings, including meetings with senior executives

  • Escort full-ship charters as on-site corporate representative and liaison between charterers and ship management

  • Host and entertain charterers independently while escorting

  • Prepare charter onboard memos with charter operations colleagues, vessels, charterers, and operating units

  • Assist the Charter Sales Director with charter proposals and contractual agreements

Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • 5+ years of relevant experience within the maritime or cruise industry, including shoreside and/or shipboard operations

  • Experience across both shoreside and shipboard environments strongly preferred

  • Experience supporting charter operations, account management, or group/incentive travel highly desirable

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex client relationships and coordinating high-touch programs or events involving multiple internal and external stakeholders

  • Strong project management and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously with exceptional attention to detail

  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to build internal consensus and develop solutions balancing client expectations, contractual commitments, and operational requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Confidence interacting with clients, senior leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders

  • Ability to independently represent Lindblad Expeditions with clients and partners in business and social settings

  • Proactive, collaborative, and solutions-oriented approach

  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to travel approximately 40% domestically and internationally

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend policies, legal guidelines, correspondence, and memos in English

  • Professional written and oral communication skills in English

  • Must reside within reasonable commuting distance of the designated New York or Seattle office
