Job summary

JTL is seeking a Financial Controller to lead financial accounting, reporting, compliance and payroll for the charity and its trading subsidiary. The role ensures robust financial management to support apprenticeship and training programmes.

You will produce timely financial information, maintain strong controls and guide budgeting, forecasting and funding decisions. You will head the Management Accounts and Payroll teams, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with the Group Director of

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent).
• Significant post-qualification experience in a senior finance role (2+ years).
• Experience producing monthly management accounts and board-level financial reporting.
• Experience preparing statutory accounts and managing external audits.
• Experience leading annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process and monthly management accounts for both entities.
• Produce monthly financial reports for the Executive Leadership Team with variance analysis.
• Oversee integrity of general ledger journals and financial records with strong internal controls.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting processes across all departments.
• Manage statutory reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance.
