Job summary

Saint Peter's Healthcare System seeks a Resource Advisor to support financial screenings and eligibility determinations for Charity Care, Medicaid and related programs. You will interact with patients to collect and verify financial and residency data, explaining program requirements and timelines, and submitting applications with accuracy.

The role requires experience in hospital revenue cycle, strong communication skills, and bilingual English/Spanish abilities to serve diverse patient

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in hospital revenue cycle preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of NJ Charity Care, NJ Medicaid eligibility, Uncompensated Care Trust Fund regulations, HIPAA, EMTALA and related programs.
• Ability to conduct complex financial and needs-based assessments with documentation.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and cultural-competency skills for counseling patients during stress.
• High attention to detail and compliance with regulations; strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients in person or by telephone to determine eligibility for Charity Care, Medicaid and other programs.
• Navigate systems required for eligibility, applications, and follow-up.
• Educate patients on program requirements, responsibilities, timelines and outcomes; complete and submit applications accurately.
• Maintain complete, accurate records and compliant documentation for screenings and applications.
• Ensure timely submission of financial adjustments and supporting documentation.
