Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking a bar/food and beverage professional to provide fast and courteous service for guests, ensuring quality presentation per established standards. The role emphasizes charm, attentiveness, and making guest experiences memorable.

The candidate will greet guests, prepare beverages, upsell, handle payments, and collaborate with other departments to ensure exceptional guest experiences. Capacity to work nights/weekends/holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and math skills.
• Food and bar service experience with general knowledge of restaurant and bar operations.
• Knowledge of alcoholic beverages is preferred.
• Must meet state legal age requirements.
• Must speak fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and take beverage and food orders in a prompt and professional manner.
• Greet guests at the bar; promote house drinks and use up-selling to maximize revenues.
• May receive guest payments and process transactions as outlined in cash procedures.
• Prepare beverages for service to hotel guests and present beverages according to standards.
• Promote teamwork and coordinate with other departments to ensure quality service.
• Monitor guest behavior and alcohol service and notify management of any incidents.
