Job summary

Nationwide-Children is seeking an Evening Shift Charge RN for 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week) Monday through Friday, with no weekend shifts.

Base rate starts at $39.90/hour plus a $5.00/hour evening shift premium; compensation is commensurate with experience. The Charge Nurse plans, directs, and evaluates patient care on a defined shift, supervising staff, coordinating resources, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • BSN required.
  • Current Ohio Nursing License, required.
  • Two years nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the activities of the shift and direct, organize, and assign work to staff.
  • Provide direct patient care as needed and support staff through coaching and delegation.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain quality and safety as priorities.
  • Act as EPIC Super User and report updates to staff and leadership.

Assesses, monitors, and supports employees throughout the shift.Facilitates direct patient care through coaching, delegation and service recovery. Provides direct patient care as needed.Engages in the “workplace community” by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings and then reporting important information and updates back to staff.Ensures regulatory compliance. Institutes emergency responses as appropriate.
