Job summary

Community Hospital of Huntington Park in Huntington Park, CA is seeking a Charge Registered Nurse for Med-Surg on a full-time day shift. The role leads nursing care on an assigned unit, coordinating with the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

This position offers a base rate of $46.07–$67.73 per hour, with 12-hour shifts and paid overtime after 8 hours. A $10,000 sign-on/retention bonus is available for full-time staff. Weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years’ experience preferred in the area applied for.
• In-depth knowledge of best practices in area/specialty.
• Adaptable to changing work schedules and patient needs.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, strong organizational skills, ability to follow verbal instructions, and PC (computer) skills.
• A capacity to learn, synthesize, make critical judgments, work independently, place patients and families first, and collaborate with the team members.

Responsibilities

• Plan patient care with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safety and satisfaction.
• Organize, prioritize, and delegate unit workflow.
• Apply evidence-based knowledge to patient care decisions and improvement strategies.
• Manage unit crises by coordinating and implementing solutions.
• Participate in the staff interview and orientation process.
• Provide feedback during staff evaluations and performance reviews.
• Ensure compliance with policies, standards and regulations.
• Communicate clearly with patients and coworkers using AIDET principles.
• May float to other hospital areas as needed.
