Job summary

Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque, NM, is hiring a day shift, full-time IMC Charge Nurse to lead nursing care and staff in a fast-paced environment.

The Charge Nurse will oversee patient flow, collaborate with managers, and ensure adherence to policies for patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Associate degree or Diploma of Nursing.
• One year of Charge Nurse experience in a hospital setting OR more than one year of clinical or management experience.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Valid NM Nursing license or NM compact license (within 90 days of hire).
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing; National Certification in clinical specialty care.

Responsibilities

• The Charge RN is responsible and accountable for the practice of Professional Nursing, including the nursing management of the patient and staff of assigned area in his/her charge.
• Manages efficient patient flow, appropriate use of supplies and other operational functions.
• Collaborates with the unit managers and/or directors in developing and revising unit policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Serves as departmental liaison and first line of contact with patients, providers and staff.
• Adheres to policies and procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
