HMR Veterans Services in Anderson, SC is seeking a Charge Nurse to supervise daily nursing activities and ensure high-quality, compliant resident care. You will oversee admissions, staffing, and patient documentation while coordinating with families and physicians as needed.

The role requires an active RN/LN license, 1+ year of supervisory healthcare experience, and strong leadership skills to support a compassionate, patient-centered team in a veterans nursing home environment.

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered state Licensed Nurse license.
• At least one year of supervisory experience in healthcare.
• Knowledge of long-term care regulations and guidelines.
• Clear reading/writing/speaking of English.
• Leadership and interpersonal skills to guide staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily nursing activities to ensure high-quality care and compliance with regulations.
• Coordinate with other departments to support comprehensive resident care and participate in surveys/inspections.
• Oversee admissions, discharges, and room transfers; communicate with families and funeral homes as needed.
• Monitor staffing levels, absenteeism, performance, and provide leadership.
• Maintain accurate nursing notes and ensure care plans are followed and updated.
• Notify families and physicians of significant condition changes; address concerns per procedures.
• Lead orientation and ongoing education; ensure PPE and infection control practices.
• Provide direct nursing care when needed and support emergency response.
• Ensure availability of medications, supplies, and equipment; maintain clean care areas.
• Promote residents’ rights and dignity with respectful care.
