Baptist Health in Corbin, KY is seeking a Charge Nurse for the Surgical Services unit. This full-time, 1st shift position requires coordinating daily activities within a 10-OR surgical area and ensuring efficient patient flow and perioperative care.

The Surgery Lead RN collaborates with Preop/PACU for smooth operations; RN licensure in Kentucky and BLS/ACLS/PALS training are required within specified timelines. CNOR preferred for supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Kentucky RN licensure current.
• BLS within 30 days; ACLS and PALS within 90 days.
• Glucometer Training within hire; Aegis Training as needed; Nurse Wound Care within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and clinical oversight for Surgical Services staff and daily operations.
• Coordinates patient flow, staffing assignments, room turnovers, scheduling, supplies, and surgical readiness.
• Delivers and oversees safe, evidence-based perioperative patient care in accordance with AORN standards and hospital policies.
• Supports staff orientation, education, competency development, performance feedback, and policy/procedure updates.
• Monitors quality, safety, documentation, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement activities.
• Serves as a liaison and clinical resource for nursing staff, physicians, ancillary departments, and Pre-op/PACU teams.

Full-Time I 1st Shift

BHCOR-Surgical Services I Corbin, KY

Surgical Services consists of 10 OR's. The OR and PACU provide care 24 hours a day, with on-call personnel from 2:30PM to 7:00AM, and weekends for patients of all ages who require emergency and elective surgical procedures.

The Surgery Lead RN is responsible for coordinating the daily activities of the Surgery unit. The Surgery Charge RN works closely with the Preop/PACU to ensure patient flow efficiencies. Also, as a Registered Nurse, implements the nursing process for each patient assigned to his/her care.

• BLS within 30 days; ACLS and PALS within 90 days
• Glucometer Training upon hire; Aegis Training per identified needs; Nurse Wound Care within 30 days

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree
• Previous supervisory experience and CNOR certification
