Job summary

Kauai Care Center on Kauai is seeking a Full-Time Evening Shift nurse for 8-hour shifts, with weekend rotation. The role focuses on medication administration, nursing services, and supervising staff to ensure quality resident care.

You will train staff, support the director of nursing, and maintain a home-like environment that respects residents’ dignity and independence while adhering to state regulations and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in good standing.
• New grads welcome to apply.
• 1 year of supervising/management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Train staff and assist the director of nursing.

• Assist residents with ADLs, medications, treatments, and other care as permitted by state regulations.

As a nurse, you are essential to quality resident care. Duties include medication assistance/administration, nursing services, training / supervising staff, and all things related to resident well-being.

You will:

• Train staff and assist the director of nursing
• Support dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for residents
• Assist residents with instrumental activities of daily living, ADLs, environmental orientation, assistance or administration with medication, treatments, and other care while encouraging self-care and independence, as permitted by state regulations
• Ensure care as indicated on resident treatment and service plans
• Know and follow infection control and safety procedures
• Review, update and communicate resident care documentation.
• Evaluate health emergencies to determine medical measures per nurse scope of practice and state regulations

You Currently:

• Possess a current nurse license in good standing
• Typical candidates have 1-year of providing supervision in healthcare. New grads are encouraged to apply!
