Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking a Charge Nurse (RN) for Acute Rehab at Dignity Health East Valley Gilbert. In this full-time Day shift role, you will lead nursing staff, ensure safe, high-quality patient care, and mentor teammates in a dynamic rehab unit.

You will oversee clinical documentation, coordinate assignments, and participate in daily stand-ups and quality improvement activities, while upholding our commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN/ADN or diploma) and RN licensure.
• Minimum six months of Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Current state RN license.
• CPR/BCLS certification; ACLS/CRRN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support nursing staff in delivering high-quality, safe patient care.
• Provide clinical mentorship, documentation oversight, and coordinate staff assignments by patient needs.
• Complete routine audits to ensure accurate documentation in Cerner and UDS for compliance.
• Assist Nurse Manager with annual evaluations and provide feedback on clinical performance.
• Identify educational opportunities for nursing staff based on clinical needs.
• Educate and monitor staff on accurate QI documentation to capture burden of care.
• Assist in QI education for licensed nursing staff.
• Participate in daily stand-up meetings to communicate patient status.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nurses caring for medically complex patients.

How You'll Contribute

• Responsible for leading and supporting nursing staff in the delivery of high-quality, safe, and compliant patient care.
• Clinical mentorship, documentation oversight, and coordination of staff assignments based on patient needs.
• Completes routine audits to assure accurate and timely documentation in Cerner and UDS in order to meet compliance standards
• Assists the Nurse Manager in annual evaluations by providing feedback on clinical performance.
• Identifies educational opportunities for the nursing staff based on clinical needs identified and verbalized by nursing staff.
• Educates and monitors all staff regarding accurate and complete QI documentation to capture accurate burden of care.
• Assists in QI education for licensed nursing staff.
• Acts as key player in daily stand up clinical meeting to communicate/identify patient status.
• Acts as a clinical resource and mentor for nurses in caring for medically complex patients in the facility.

What We're Looking For

• Education: Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program.
• Experience: Minimum six months of Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• License: Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Certifications: CPR/BCLS certification required; ACLS & CRRN preferred.
