Job summary

Hillcrest HealthCare System invites applications for a weekend day shift, full-time Cardiac Telemetry Charge Registered Nurse (RN) in Tulsa, OK. The role oversees day-to-day unit operations, supervising staff and coordinating care in a fast-paced Med-Surg environment.

The Charge RN ensures high-quality patient care, mentors team members, and collaborates with management on policy and resource allocation. Oklahoma RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and 2–5 years of clinical experience are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Current Oklahoma RN license required.
• BLS certification obtained within 14 days and ACLS within 6 months.
• Two to five years of clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day unit functions on designated shifts.
• Supervise nursing staff to ensure safe, caring patient care.
• Support planning, policy implementation, and resource allocation.

Learn About a Day in the Life of a Med-Surg RN:

• The Charge Nurse is a registered nurse professional who assumes responsibility for the direction and coordination of all day-to-day functions in the unit on his/her designated shifts.
• In collaboration with other members of the management team, this individual is responsible for the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit.
• He/she is responsible for the supervision of assigned nursing and unit-based personnel to provide a safe, caring environment for patients, family and staff which foster professional nursing practice, shared decision making, inter-professional teamwork and collaboration with positive patient and staff outcomes.
• He/she assists the Nursing Manager/Director in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating and monitoring policies and procedures, allocation of resources, quality/performance improvement initiatives, educational programs and shared governance councils to achieve departmental and organizational goals and objectives.
• Provides direct nursing care as needed.

Job Requirements:

• A graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Must possess a current Oklahoma License as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Must obtain and maintain ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Two to five years of clinical experience.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• BSN.
• Med/Surg experience.
• Experience in patient care management.
• Charge nurse experience.
