Job summary

Ardent Health Services in Tulsa, OK is seeking a weekend day shift, full-time Cardiac Telemetry Charge Registered Nurse (RN) to lead day-to-day unit operations on designated shifts. The Charge Nurse will direct nursing care, supervise staff, and collaborate with the management team to uphold quality patient care in a Med-Surg/Telemetry setting.

Requirements include an Oklahoma RN license, graduation from an accredited nursing program, BLS within 14 days, ACLS within 6 months, and 2–5 years of

Qualifications

• A graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Must possess a current Oklahoma License as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Two to five years of clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• The Charge Nurse directs and coordinates day-to-day functions in the unit during designated shifts.
• Collaborates with the management team to assess and ensure quality patient care services.
• Supervises nursing and unit-based personnel to provide a safe, caring environment for patients, families and staff.
• Assists in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating and monitoring policies, resource allocation, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Provides direct nursing care as needed.

Learn About a Day in the Life of a Med-Surg RN:

• The Charge Nurse is a registered nurse professional who assumes responsibility for the direction and coordination of all day-to-day functions in the unit on his/her designated shifts.
• In collaboration with other members of the management team, this individual is responsible for the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit.
• He/she is responsible for the supervision of assigned nursing and unit-based personnel to provide a safe, caring environment for patients, family and staff which fosters professional nursing practice, shared decision making, inter-professional teamwork and collaboration with positive patient and staff outcomes.
• He/she assists the Nursing Manager/Director in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating and monitoring policies and procedures, allocation of resources, quality/performance improvement initiatives, educational programs and shared governance councils to achieve departmental and organizational goals and objectives.
• Provides direct nursing care as needed.

Job Requirements:

• A graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Must possess a current Oklahoma License as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Must obtain and maintain ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Two to five years of clinical experience.
