Job summary

Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Bastrop seeks an experienced registered nurse to lead day-to-day patient care coordination on the unit. You will provide direct RN care, act as Charge nurse, and oversee staff during your shift, communicating with leadership and medical teams as needed.

Requirements include an active Louisiana RN license and ADN/BSN, with CPR/BLS certification. Prior mental health experience is preferred; both full-time and PRN opportunities are available, along with strong

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor degree in nursing from accredited program.
• Current, active RN license in Louisiana.
• CPR/BLS certification required or provided if needed.
• One-year minimum experience in mental health or behavioral health preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day patient care activities on the unit.
• Provide direct patient care within RN scope of practice.
• Serve as Charge nurse and supervise ancillary staff during shifts.
• Communicate with DON and medical staff on care issues.
• Complete admission paperwork and timely charting.
• Ensure adherence to policies, infection control, and safety protocols.
• Participate in performance improvement through chart monitoring.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to meet patient goals.
