Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee daily unit activities to ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Serve as a caregiver with modified patient assignments when necessary.
- Work within a clinical environment supported by Nurse Managers and the WellStar Shared Governance Model.
- Follow the WellStar Professional Nursing Practice Model, evidence-based practice, and research.
- Support practices that promote excellence in patient care, resource efficiency, and leadership tasks such as staffing, patient flow, clinical expertise, physician rounding, committee involvement, and survey readiness.
- Act as a resource for operational and hospital/facility knowledge.
- Assist in developing team members' skills and foster professional growth.
- Build rapport between nurses and physicians, exemplify leadership and professionalism.
- Maintain licensure and adhere to the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act, ANA standards, and the Code of Ethics.
- Uphold patient voice, system policies, and service excellence as part of the patient services team.
- Utilize clinical expertise to deliver safe, age-appropriate, culturally sensitive patient care.
- Participate proactively as part of an interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications
Minimum Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree/Diploma); BSN preferred.
Licensure/Certification
- Current Georgia RN license.
- Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Specialty certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS) preferred depending on service area.
Experience
- At least 1 year of nursing experience; 2 years preferred.
- Experience as relief charge nurse preferred.
Skills
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Basic computer skills and technological aptitude.
- Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Sufficient clinical and leadership experience to ensure competence and credibility.
