Job summary

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited nursing program (required).
RN licensure or compact licensure in Alabama upon hire (required).
BCLS certification (required).
ACLS certification within 180 days (required).
PALS certification within 180 days (required).
Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.

Responsibilities

Supervises, plans, evaluates, and coordinates patient care on the unit as charge nurse when assigned.
Administers medications including controlled substances and blood products.
Performs essential nursing duties, CPR, hemodynamic monitoring, venipuncture, and IV starts.
Maintains infection control and safety standards; documents care and charges.
Transcribes orders, coordinates with physicians and staff, and ensures patient education.
