Job summary

The University of South Alabama is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Mobile, Alabama team within USA Health. The RN will provide patient care across units, administer medications, and respond to emergencies while complying with all policies and procedures. ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and BCLS certifications are required or pursued within defined timelines.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active RN license in Alabama.
• ACLS, PALS, TNCC and BCLS certifications required or must be obtained within stated windows.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.
• Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care according to unit specific competencies.
• Administers medications including controlled substances by all routes.
• Performs CPR according to American Heart Association standards.
• Adheres to hospital policies including confidentiality.
• Supervises, plans, evaluates, and coordinates patient care provided by other licensed and non-licensed staff.
• Starts IVs and manages vascular access.
• Responds to emergency patient situations.
