Job summary

The Charge Nurse (OR) at People Fluent promotes efficient case flow and coordinates the daily surgical schedule. You will resolve issues per policies, direct OR nursing staff, and provide leadership during emergencies.

Qualifications include ADN/BSN/OR BA/BS with MSN, BLS, and RN licensure (GA or multi-state compact); ACLS/PALS/NRP as required. Prior OR control desk coordination is a plus; Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• ADN/BSN/OR BA/BS with MSN are acceptable education paths.
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
• ACLS, PALS, or NRP must be obtained within 6 months of hire in select units.
• Current RN license (Georgia) or multi-state compact license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the daily surgical schedule in the OR.
• Resolve issues per policies and procedures for OR utilization.
• Direct OR nursing staff and lead during emergencies.
• Serve as the charge nurse for the Operating Room.

Position Status: Full Time

Position Description

The Charge Nurse (OR) promotes the efficient and timely flow of cases through the operating room. Demonstrates ability to resolve issues in an equitable fashion as delineated by policies and procedures defining utilization of the Operating Room. Responsible for the coordination of the surgical schedule on a daily basis. Provides internal problem resolution and trouble-shooting related to operations of the operating room. Responsible for assignment of Operating Room Nursing Staff. Directs the staff during emergency situations in the Operating Room. Functions as the charge nurse for the Operating Room.

Position Requirements

• ADN, BSN, OR BA/BS with MSN.
• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS).
• ACLS, PALS, or NRP (only in select units/departments) must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Current Registered Nursing License (Georgia) or qualifying multi-state compact license.

Preferred Requirements

• Previous experience as an OR Control Desk Coordinator is desired.
• CNOR.
