Job summary

CommonSpirit Health’s Chandler Regional Medical Center seeks a Medical Surgical Telemetry Charge RN to lead a frontline nursing team in a high-acuity setting. You will advocate for nurses, support professional growth, and drive adherence to safety and quality standards.

You will coordinate care, mentor staff, and ensure effective operations on the unit while participating in hospital-wide governance and performance improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing required.
• Current RN license in Arizona upon hire.
• BLS required; ACLS within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Mentors others in competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, and patient safety goals.
• Evaluates care, coaches staff to improve quality, and maintains standard of care.
• Provides direct patient care as needed.
• Coordinates ethics processes and Ethics Consults as appropriate.
• Manages patient flow on the unit to ensure timely care.
• Attends hospital bed board and related leadership meetings.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Medical Surgical Telemetry Charge RN, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care, LTC, or nursing homes adds tremendous value to our nursing team.

Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives.

To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.

• Mentors others in areas such as competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals, and participation in inservice education.
• Evaluates care given by staff, coaches to improve care, and ensures standard of care is maintained.
• Provides direct patient care as needed.
• Exhibits a general understanding of the process for dealing with ethical dilemmas and understands and coordinates the process for obtaining an Ethics Consult.
• Coordinates patient flow on the unit to facilitate the provision of timely and effective care.
• Attends hospital-wide bed board meetings.

Job Requirements

Required

• Associate Of Nursing Nursing and Two (2) years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty and/or charge nurse experience
• Registered Nurse: AZ, upon hire
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within six (6) months

Preferred

• Bachelors of Science Nursing
