Job summary

Kaiser Permanente Northwest seeks a Charge Nurse in Oregon to lead nursing care for a unit during a shift and support staff across shifts. The role reports to the Nursing Unit Coordinator and helps with problem solving and communication between shifts.

Responsibilities include supervising nursing personnel, participating in staffing decisions, guiding patient care with the nursing process, and contributing to quality assurance activities.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of Registered Nurse experience, one year in clinical specialty.
• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Current Registered Nurse License (Oregon).
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Experience in acute care or skilled nursing, utilizing the nursing process, effective problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise nursing personnel and participate in applicant interviews and staffing decisions.
• Assist in staff evaluations and monitor performance; document issues to Coordinator.
• Coordinate staff meetings and manage day-to-day staffing and resources.
• Identify system problems impacting patient care and escalate to Coordinator; assist with budget trend analysis.
