The role requires RN or LVN licensure in good standing, strong clinical and documentation skills, and the ability to coordinate workflows.

Responsibilities

• Direct Care Teams: Provide guidance to Nurse Aides for resident care.

• Perform Treatments: Deliver treatments as needed for resident health and comfort.
• Transcribe Orders: Accurately transcribe physician orders.
• Document Resident Care: Maintain timely documentation in charts and complete nursing assessments.
• Collaborate During Shift Reports: Participate in shift reports for continuity of care.
• Educate Support Staff: Teach nursing policies and resident care needs to staff.
• Maintain Safety Standards: Enforce infection control and body mechanics procedures.
• Address Staffing Needs: Arrange for replacements during shortages.

Your Impact as a Charge Nurse – LVN or RN

In this role, you will:

• Direct Care Teams: Provide guidance to Nurse Aides to ensure appropriate care for residents.

• Administer Medications: Properly and safely administer resident medications as prescribed.

• Implement Care Plans: Execute resident care plans in compliance with company policies, federal guidelines, and physician orders.

• Perform Treatments: Deliver treatments as required to ensure resident health and comfort.

• Transcribe Orders: Accurately and promptly transcribe physician orders.

• Document Resident Care: Maintain timely and accurate documentation in resident charts and complete required nursing assessments.

• Collaborate During Shift Reports: Participate in shift reports to ensure seamless communication and care continuity.

• Educate Support Staff: Implement nursing policies and procedures, educating staff on the care needs of residents.

• Maintain Safety Standards: Promote a safe working environment by complying with infection control and body mechanic procedures.

• Address Staffing Needs: Respond to staffing shortages by arranging for replacement staff as necessary.
