Job summary

Downtownhealthfw is seeking a Charge Nurse – LVN or RN to lead care teams, administer medications, and implement individualized care plans for residents in a busy facility.

The role requires RN or LVN licensure, strong clinical and documentation skills, excellent communication, and the ability to respond to emergencies while coordinating shift handoffs and staff training.

Qualifications

• Current RN or LVN license in good standing.
• Ability to administer medications safely and accurately.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to respond efficiently to emergencies and manage urgent situations.
• Experience guiding Nurse Aides and coordinating care.

Responsibilities

• Direct Care Teams: Provide guidance to Nurse Aides to ensure appropriate care for residents.
• Administer Medications: Properly and safely administer resident medications as prescribed.
• Implement Care Plans: Execute resident care plans in compliance with company policies, federal guidelines, and physician orders.
• Perform Treatments: Deliver treatments as required to ensure resident health and comfort.
• Transcribe Orders: Accurately and promptly transcribe physician orders.
• Document Resident Care: Maintain timely and accurate documentation in resident charts and complete required nursing assessments.
• Collaborate During Shift Reports: Participate in shift reports to ensure seamless communication and care continuity.
• Educate Support Staff: Implement nursing policies and procedures, educating staff on the care needs of residents.
• Maintain Safety Standards: Promote a safe working environment by complying with infection control and body mechanic procedures.
• Address Staffing Needs: Respond to staffing shortages by arranging for replacement staff as necessary.
