Job summary

Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, KS seeks a Charge Nurse for Hospitalists on the day shift. You will supervise Hospitalist Case Management daily operations, lead education, staffing coverage, and ensure safe transitions of care.

You will audit documentation, monitor quality and regulatory compliance, partner with the Director to address patient concerns, and drive process improvements in a busy inpatient environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
• 2 years of experience in an acute care setting; hospitalist experience preferred.
• Supervisor experience preferred.
• Current KS RN license (KSBN) or multistate license accepted.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a clinical and operational resource while supporting interdisciplinary rounds, patient progression, discharge planning, and safe transitions of care.
• Lead orientation, education, competency development, coaching, mentoring, and performance support for Hospitalist Case Managers.
• Direct daily Hospitalist Case Management operations, including workflow coordination, staffing coverage, and removal of operational barriers.
• Audit case management documentation and monitor quality, regulatory, and performance measures; provide feedback and implement improvement plans.
• Partner with the Director to address patient concerns, service recovery, leadership rounding, and patient experience improvement strategies.
