Job summary

Blue Cloud Pediatric Surgery Centers in Westerville, OH is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse/Charge Nurse to lead perioperative nursing care at our pediatric ASC. The role collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and a patient-focused team to maintain safety and high-quality care.

The Charge Nurse will supervise nursing staff, coordinate schedules, and provide ongoing reports while ensuring smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Knowledge of the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• ACLS within 30 days of hire; PALS within 90 days of hire.

• Provide daily and intermittent reports.
• Maintain effective communication with DON/administrator and clinical staff.
• Ensure supervision of surgery center flow in absence of DON/administrator.

YOU WILL

The Charge Nurse coordinates and oversees nursing care and related activities of the surgical center per the policies and objectives of the center.

Essential Functions

• Prepare schedules and ensures completion of delegated tasks.
• Provide daily and intermittent reports.
• Maintain effective communication with DON/administrator, as well as clinical and nonclinical associates.
• Ensure proper supervision of surgery center flow in the absence of the DON/administrator.
• Report deviations in surgery, the schedule and parent/guardian grievances to the DON/administrator.
• Manage and supervise the nursing staff and provide support as needed.
• Direct the admission of patients during the perioperative process within the surgery center.
• Stay up-to-date on clinical staff certifications including PALS, ACLS, and BLS.
• Assist with discharge and general flow of patients on the schedule.
• Assist DON/administrator with nursing assignments.
• Assist with ordering of necessary supplies for the surgery center.
• Ensure that medical gas is ordered and stocked appropriately.
• Sign off on competency evaluations.
• Serves a multi-task role as a leader, teacher and self-starting organizer.
• Follow the surgery center’s professional conduct and dress code policy.
• Attend all mandatory in-services and meetings.

Required Education And Experience

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Knowledge regarding the nursing process and its application, including the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care.
• ACLS within 30 days of hire-PALS within 90 days of hire

Preferred Education And Experience

• Bachelor's degree in nursing
• Previous experience in ICU or perioperative nursing experience

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

• Current state license to practice as a registered nurse.
