About the Role
A Registered Nurse (RN) - Charge Nurse who excels in this role will:
- Oversee daily clinical operations and ensure continuity of care across departments
- Serve as the primary clinical resource for staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to nursing staff during assigned shifts
- Assess unit needs and prioritize staffing assignments and patient care activities
- Coordinate admissions, patient flow, and room placement
- Ensure delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centered care
- Monitor patient care activities to reduce risk and prevent errors
- Provide direct patient care as needed based on unit demands
- Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant documentation
- Oversee completion and accuracy of Interdisciplinary Care Plans
- Support Quality Indicator (QI) processes and performance improvement initiatives
- Promote adherence to hospital policies, regulatory standards, and best practices
- Support staff development, education, and a positive work environment
- Assist with staffing, scheduling, productivity, and operational workflows
Qualifications
Applicants should have a current state RN license and have graduated from an accredited nursing program. Additional requirements include:
- CPR/BLS certification required
- CRRN certification preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum of two years of experience in a rehabilitation or acute care setting required
- Previous leadership or charge nurse experience preferred
- Strong leadership, clinical judgment, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
Schedule
3x12, Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), rotating weekends
