Job summary

Harboroaks is seeking an experienced RN supervisor to direct care on a shift, coordinate nursing staff, and ensure patient safety. You will oversee daily medical or behavioral health activities and provide direct patient care while guiding the team and managing documentation.

Ideal candidates hold an active RN license in the state and have BSN preferred. Experience in behavioral health settings is strongly valued; CPR and de‑escalation certifications are required.

Qualifications

  • BSN preferred and an active RN license in the facility state.
  • 1 year RN experience preferred; 6 months required.
  • Behavioral health/psychiatric experience preferred (inpatient or outpatient).
  • CPR and de‑escalation/restraint certifications required.

Overview

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

Responsible for directing care to patients, facilitating work flow, service as a clinical resource for staff, and for providing team leadership on a shift to shift basis. health/nursing services in a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times. Collaborate with others to ensure that all patients’ physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental and cultural needs are met and when they are not met, acknowledges and works to resolve customer complaints. Recognizes that patient safety is a top priority.

Responsibilities
  • Role models expectations related to customer service and demonstrates a sense of urgency related to the importance of patient safety

  • Oversee a unit or work group for a specified shift.

  • Provide direct care for patients as well as monitor and coordinate other nurses and members of the staff on the daily medical or behavioral health care activities of the unit.

  • Schedule staff to ensure full coverage at all times and to ensure effective application of services.

  • Lead, guide and train employees performing work.

  • Oversee and provide direct nursing evaluation, consultation and other related care to patients as required.

  • Coordinate services and maintain communication with other departments or staff as required.

  • Oversee quality assurance activities and compliance to operational standards, participate in program development, development or implementation of operating policy and procedure and promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices as requested.

  • Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, case managers, coworkers and others in an effective manner.

  • Complete and maintain required documentation.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • BSN preferred.
  • Current registered nursing license in State of facility required
  • One year experience as a registered nurse preferred
  • 6 months of experience as a registered nurse required
  • One or more years experience in behavioral health/psychiatric/addiction recovery environment (inpatient or outpatient) preferred.
  • Some experience as a change RN preferred.

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

Current RN license within the state where facility is providing service.

CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).

First aid may be required based on state or facility.
